India Considers Late Trading In Agricultural Commodities – Regulator

Because the $135.00 strike represents an approximate 1% discount to the current trading price of the stock (in other words it is out-of-the-money by that percentage), there is also the possibility that the put contract would expire worthless. The current analytical data (including greeks and implied greeks) suggest the current odds of that happening are 57%. Stock Options Channel will track those odds over time to see how they change, publishing a chart of those numbers on our website under the contract detail page for this contract . Should the contract expire worthless, the premium would represent a 7.78% return on the cash commitment, or 12.03% annualized at Stock Options Channel we call this the YieldBoost.

Ted Cruz: Obama’s Objective In Syria ‘fundamentally Wrong’

Repeatedly stating that President Barack Obama is concentrating on making a statement in defense of international norms, Cruz called the objective of a limited strike fundamentally wrong during a speech at The Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday afternoon. Instead, Cruz gave several examples of ways the crisis in Syria should be resolved, including forcing a vote from the United Nations Security Council on the issue and making sure Iran is not supplying the Assad regime with chemical weapons. Cruz also said the Obama Administration should not be naive in believing that Russia and China will immediately work in collaboration with the U.S. We shouldntexpect that Russia and China will do anything other than act in their own national interest, Cruz said. Cruz compared Obamas leadership style to that of Ronald Reagans during the Cold War, citing the trust, but verify, relationship Reagan had with the Soviet Union. Thats the sort of leadership we need, he said.

Obama Syria Reversal Sets Stage for Fights with Congress

Job Disapproval Obama is entering his face-offs with Republicans with some of his lowest poll ratings — 49 percent of Americans said they disapprove of the way hes handling his job, compared with 44 approving, according to a survey conducted by the Pew Research Center and USA Today on Sept. 4-8. On foreign policy, just one-third of voters approve of how the president is handling the issue — the lowest rating since he entered office. His approval ratings are going down, so he doesnt have the ability to dictate from the bully pulpit, said John Feehery , a Republican strategist and former aide to House Republican leaders. It gives Republicans an opening. Lingering Issue If the international talks proposed by Putin to try to rid Assads regime of its chemical weapons fail to produce any real result, the Syria conflict will consume valuable legislative time and force the White House to continue to grapple with an unpopular issue. So far, the White Houses effort in Syria hasnt done much to persuade Republicans clicking here that siding with the president is a politically wise choice.

Obama Marks 9/11 With Nod to Benghazi, Syria Crisis

That interpretation is simply wrong. Ever since Obama decided to go to Congress for approval of what he regards as the least-bad policy in Syria, we have been treated to a fascinating preview of foreign policy debates in the age of social media. In prior crises, the presidents meetings with leading figures in Congress have been shrouded in secrecy. Now there are endless live interviews and immediate Twitter feeds summarizing closed sessions. There has, in fact, been more transparency on Syria than on, say, the Obama-John Boehner budget negotiations. But even as the two officials prepared to meet in Washington, new revelations offered further fodder for Brazilian concerns about the surveillance. A report Sunday by Globo TV, based on leaked documents from Snowden, said the NSA targeted Brazil’s state-run oil company, Petrobras. It also said the NSA targeted the Belgium-based Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication, an organization that oversees international bank transfers thought to be secure transactions. The NSA programs have sparked international consternation from Latin America to Asia and Europe. Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto, who shared his concerns during his own private meeting with Obama last week, has said reports the NSA had kept tabs on his communications, if true, would constitute an illegal act. And Obama found himself on the defensive last week during a stop in Stockholm, where he insisted the U.S.

President Obama, First Lady Michelle Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden, along with members of their staffs, began the day by marking the anniversary of the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, first with a moment of silence on the South Lawn of the White House and then, for the president, a wreath-laying ceremony and speech at the Pentagon Memorial . Speaking to a crowd of dignitaries and families of Sept. 11 victims, Obama declared the anniversary a moment for prayer, public service and thanksgiving, especially for the survivors who have “taught us all there’s no trouble we cannot endure and there’s no calamity we cannot overcome.” Live Blog: 9/11 Anniversary Coverage “Even more than memorials of stone and water, your lives are the greatest tribute to those that we lost, for their legacy shines on in you,” Obama said. “When you smile just like him, when you toss your hair just like her, when you foster scholarships and service projects that bear the name of those we lost and make a better world; when you join the firehouse or you put on the uniform or you devote yourself to a cause greater than yourself, just like they did, that’s a testimony to them.” Elsewhere in Washington, lawmakers — many with small American flags tucked into the pockets of their suit jackets — filed onto the steps of the U.S.

One of the things Ohio State enjoys over most other teams is a depth advantage at most positions. If one guy goes down, another guy steps in, and life goes on. When Braxton Miller went down very early on Saturday, Kenny Guiton stepped in like he was in the middle of practice for ballroom dancing or something and just blitzed San Diego State. Ballroom. Toward the end of bull markets, investors become complacent and their expectation for volatility is low. One catalyst that could get the blame for a market drop is the Federal Reserve tapering its quantitative easing, or bond purchasing, program. When it stops buying bonds, bond prices will decline and interest rates will rise. Rising interest rates are typically negative for stocks. Additional catalysts include tensions around the globe, like Syria, the upcoming appointment of a new Fed chairperson and a debt-ceiling deadline in mid-October.

Stock Market and Economic Cycles

For example, did you know that a bull market for stocks typically peaks before the economy peaks? In different words, a new bear market for stocks can begin even as the economy continues to grow. In fact, by the time the Federal Reserve officially announces a recession has begun, it could be a good time to get more aggressive and start putting more of your investment dollars into stocks. This article explains why the stock market and economy peak and trough at different times and how you might structure a portfolio to maximize returns. Defining and Differentiating the Market and the Economy All investors, which includes individuals, asset managers, pension funds, banks, insurance companies, just to name a few, collectively make up and influence what most refer to as the market. Technically the market refers to capital markets, which is a marketplace for investors to buy and sell investment securities, such as stocks, bonds and mutual funds.

Forex News: Trading This Weeks Nfp Release

The OECD now sees the U.K. economy growing at +1.5% compared to its previous estimate of +0.8%. The revision is consistent with recent data, which has been more positive that the market had foreseen. British policymakers jobs have just got that much harder. The revised growth forecast does not make new Governor Mark Carneys job any easier either. Strong data and revised growth makes it difficult for policymakers to keep a lid on market rate expectations.

The rupee has depreciated over 25 percent in value since May. Because of its deficits, it has fared worse than other emerging market currencies since the U.S. Federal Reserve first indicated it is considering reducing its bond-buying stimulus. External factors coupled with slowing domestic growth have dragged the rupee to a series of record lows, forcing the central bank to sell dollars from its reserves to avert a deeper slide of the local currency. The rupee touched a lifetime low of 68.85 to the dollar on August 28, and ended at 67.63/64 on Tuesday. India’s ratio of short-term debt to forex reserves rose to 33.1 percent at the end of March from 28.7 percent last September, the central bank added in its half-yearly foreign exchange reserves management report.

In addition, another 1.1 mbd or so barrels are transported through the 200-mile long Sumed pipeline connecting the Red Sea to the Mediterranean. As such, if there is any threat of disruption here, traders start panicking and this would increase the volatility of the market. High volatility necessitates a rebalancing of contracts and a clear rise of oil prices in the market. A good rule of thumb to apply here is that, for every 1% reduction in world oil production (exclusive of an equivalent reduction in demand), the average crude oil prices rise by up to $10 per barrel. When there is a crisis or any kind of instability in Egypt, hitches in the Suez Canal supply route can be caused by government cuts in communications all over the country.
